CHILDREN

Intergenerational Gatherings

At UUFSU, we joyfully embrace children and families as an essential part of our beloved community. Our children's programming is designed to be engaging, inclusive, and fun—a place where young minds can explore, grow, and connect while learning the values that define Unitarian Universalism.

Guided by the Seven UU Principles, we create a nurturing space where children can:

  • Celebrate the worth and dignity of every person, fostering kindness and self-respect.

  • Embrace justice, equity, and compassion, building friendships based on empathy and fairness.

  • Learn together in an open and thoughtful way, asking big questions and seeking understanding.

  • Engage in free and responsible thinking, discovering their own beliefs and values.

  • Connect with a supportive community, recognizing we all have a role in making the world a better place.

  • Work toward peace and justice, learning ways to make a positive impact in their communities.

  • Respect and care for our planet, exploring the beauty and responsibility of living in harmony with nature.

Schedule

From September through May, our schedule is as follows:

1st Sunday of the month: Intergenerational Gatherings bring children and adults together with videos, music, stories, and activities that are engaging and thought-provoking for people of all ages.

2nd Sunday of the month: Child care is available for children up to 10 years old, allowing parents to participate in chalice services while their little ones engage in supervised free play. Youth 10+ are encouraged to attend the adult services.
3rd Sunday of the month: We offer separate programming for children (ages 3 to 9) and youth (ages 10+) concurrent with the adult programming.

4th Sunday of the month: Child care is available for children up to 10 years old, allowing parents to participate in chalice services while their little ones engage in supervised free play. Youth 10+ are encouraged to attend the adult services.

During the summer (June through August), UUFSU only hosts programs on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Child care is available these days for parents of young children who wish to attend the adult services. Youth 10+ are encouraged to attend the adult services.

Families are always welcome at UUFSU, and we invite you to be part of this journey of discovery and connection. Whether they’re engaging in lively discussions, exploring new ideas, or simply enjoying laughter with friends, our young UU learners are encouraged to be curious, kind, and full of wonder.
